Adventure Week

We all went out to family night at the drive-in theater on Tuesday. Paul is a genius and discovered the perfect way we can still see movies. Gabriel could fuss and I could nurse him all in the privacy of the dark car. And we still enjoyed seeing a new movie (Ratatouille). I'm so glad. It was a success. Maybe we'll try seeing the new Harry Potter movie next week.

Also, Gabriel and Rachel took their first walk with the stroller today. It was a little too warm at 1pm, but we experimented by just going around the block. Yeah, fresh air and out of the house!

Happy Two Weeks, Gabriel!!

Day 10

Here is Paul multitasking this beautiful Sunday morning. He's holding the baby, cuddling with the cat, and reading the 7th Harry Potter book. What a dad!

++size.family[]

Gabriel Neff Gunn was born at 11:38 pm, Thursday July 12th at 6lbs 9oz and 19.5 inches. Here's Gabriel and Mom having some snuggle time a few hours after the ordeal.

We didn't get to take him home until Sunday morning, but now he's happy and safe at home with mom.

He's a major wiggle-worm right now, and a definite night owl.

Time Marches on ... or Julys on

Well, the baby wasn't a "lucky" baby born on 07-07-07.

And I didn't have to share my birthday on Sunday with him.

We still have Friday the 13th coming (his actual due date)...

Wood Chips

Here is the BIG pile of wood chips that we had dumped in our driveway. That was one of the things we worked on last weekend (and again on the holiday yesterday and again this coming weekend...). Paul and my mom are working hard here. Can you see that the pile of chips is practically to mom's head?! Dad was in the back, trimming the giant dead tree branches that threatened to fall on us and were scraping the roof. The wonderful smell of redwood makes our backyard much more pleasant. Not to mention that it will enrich the soil (or lack thereof) and keep Paw from having to mow. :)

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We enjoyed staying home (pregnant ladies don't really want to sit on the ground for several hours, far away from the nearest bathroom, just to watch fireworks). We watched the fireworks at the Capital on PBS though.
